Ibiza Running Races
If you’re in Ibiza and you’ve searched ‘running races near me’, ‘half marathons near me’ or ‘Ibiza running races 2026’ – look no further! You may be surprised to hear that Ibiza is a very sporty island. There are Running Races in Ibiza almost every weekend outside of the peak summer months – many of them are Road Races but the Trail Races on this green & hilly island are really special.
There are a lot of Athletic Clubs in Ibiza and their members turn out at the races in force, all wearing full-on club strip. Some races have very generous prizes for top performers in their category, and most races provide great food at the end! Entry costs are cheap except for some notable “big ticket events” (a couple are even FREE!) and many races have events for kids and/or walkers beforehand . Sometimes you have to collect your number (dorsal) in advance of the day of the race (location dependent on the race). Note that the trail races tend to be very strict on certain items that you must have with you, or you will not be able to participate! Read carefully the race info that they will send to you after you have signed up.
To help you find a race, below is a list of the Ibiza Running Races (plus those in Formentera) that tend to take place each year (but obviously you should check out the event website to ensure it’s definitely happening on the year you want to visit!), plus links to other websites that are useful references:

Anyway, this is a beautiful race, highly recommended. There´s also a rollerskate category! - 15k Formentera Sunset Run “Run and Feel”: 15k and 5k (Road)

This event takes place in San Antonio port. For the adults there´s a 5k and 1 mile race, and you can run both with one registration/chip. As well as prizes for the winners, there´s a great raffle based on your bib number! It takes place on 15 November in 2026 and egistration is already open! Organised by Blue Challenge who organise many sporting events in Ibiza, they transport you for free from Sant Carles to the start point of the race. Entries are via Sportmaniacs.- Cursa de Sa Sobrassada: Half Marathon Team Relay (plus shorter distances for kids) (Road)
This race is to celebrate the time when Sobrassada is made on the island (and is generally held on the second-to-last weekend in November). Sobrassada is a cured, raw sausage, made as part of the festive rituals that mark the coming of winter. Very tasty on toast or in pasta. Anyway, there are 4 different categories for the team event, ranging from 1 to 3 runners and a mix of male/female/mixed. The course is a 1.5k circuit of Santa Gertrudis, and it’s up to each team how many laps each runner completes. The prizes for the winners are, of course, sobrassada sausages…. yum! A great race for friends and family to spectate, as they can sit outside Ullivans or Can Cosmi and watch you pass them several times!! No website but entries are on Sportmaniacs.- 3 Días Trail Ibiza: Day 1 10k (night) | Day 2 Ultra (72k) / Marathon / Half Marathon / 10k | Day 3 10k (Trail)
Organised by the amazing team at Trideporte, this event is a real test! It takes place the last weekend in November. Friday is a hilly nighttime 10k race through the UNESCO Dalt Vila, taking you through the Necropolis and down to the coast behind the Dalt Vila. Saturday you have a choice of 4 different hilly trail races (from 10k upto a 72k Ultra), which all finish in Sant Josep and take you up to Sa Talaia, the highest point in Ibiza. Sunday is a hilly(!) 10k race which started and finished in Santa Eularia in 2025. You can participate in all 3 days, or just one of them. It´s an incredibly well organised race, and your subscription fee includes free hot food and branded, useful running kit.December:
- Cursa Popular De Sa Salsa: 6k (plus shorter distances for kids) (Road)
We love this race! A beautiful 6k race that starts & ends in Sant Josep, and has shorter races for children within the football stadium. After the race they serve the traditional-in-Ibiza Christmas “Salsa Nadal”, which is made of almonds and honey but also chicken stock! Held on the last Sunday before Christmas – put your festive gear on and get running! Entries are via Elite Chip.- Pujada a la Catedral: 2.3k (Road)
The last race of the year, held on the afternoon of New Year´s Eve, is FREE! And open to everyone 10 & older. It’s short but very steep (which is why it’s called ‘Ascent to the Cathedral’), starting in Ibiza Town Port & finishing in front of the Cathedral at the top of the UNESCO World Heritage Dalt Vila. Although it’s free, you must register in advance and pick up your number before the race. As well as the usual age categories, there´s a fancy dress category so it´s worth going along just to see the outfits! Registration is via Elite Chip.
